Painting of Exterior Building Trolley
At Onrope Services, we specialize in high-access solutions that other contractors simply can't reach—literally. One such example is our recent project involving the meticulous cleaning and painting of a building trolley located on the rooftop of a high-rise in downtown Portland.
What is a Building Trolley?
A building trolley is a structural rail-mounted device installed at the top of a building, typically used to suspend window cleaning or maintenance platforms over the façade. It plays a critical role in supporting and guiding Building Maintenance Units (BMUs), making it an essential part of any high-rise exterior access system.
Challenges of Access and Maintenance
Due to its rooftop location and structural complexity, accessing a building trolley for routine maintenance is exceptionally difficult. These systems are often exposed to the elements—wind, rain, and temperature fluctuations—all of which can accelerate corrosion and compromise the safety and longevity of the equipment.
Our rope access technicians safely navigated this complex environment to carry out a thorough cleaning, followed by the application of industrial-grade protective paint. This not only improved the appearance and performance of the trolley but also helped to prevent rust and extend the life of the structure.
Why It Matters
Regular maintenance of building trolleys is essential for operational safety and long-term durability. Neglecting this type of maintenance can lead to costly repairs or equipment failure. At Onrope Services, we provide proactive, high-level access solutions that help property managers protect their investments while ensuring safety and compliance.
